I discovered yoga during the summer of 2000, in my home town of Regina, Saskatchewan. Coming from a corporate world at a young age, I found myself on a search for balance and that enlightenment so often heard of. That summer, I stepped onto my mat for the first time, and it all began… to make sense. Discovering the balance between work, home and myself was possible.
I’ve continued with my practice the past 17 years, while completing a 500 Hour Hatha Philosophy Certificate in 2010 and a 200 Hour Hatha Yoga Instructor Certificate in 2012. I then began my teaching career in the community of Fort McMurray, while working in the Environment sector. I discovered an amazing group of yogi’s, while growing with them through practice.
The biggest challenge faced was returning to the community after May 2016, and resuming teaching in a community that was left somewhat speechless. Together we again found ourselves on our mats, on that quest for Peace.
Numerous times… three in particular, yoga has saved me so to speak, always bringing me back to a place of balance. I am eternally grateful for my practice, and as always, draw the line between the world and myself at my mat.
Namaste.
